Flashback

Yes! The Flasher has returned in digital form, just as you suspected.
Yes! It did have to go underground due to a certain South African librarian who threatened to destroy us after I charged her 40p for a copy, just as you suspected.
No! The quality of journalism has not progressed beyond a Year 11 standard.

Just as you suspected. Yet I believe there will be benefits nonetheless. No more will we have to physically threaten young girls to buy it. We will not have to rely on the school photocopying man to print our papers, squeezing the school's every last resource by using all the A3 paper. Finally, we will not have to compete with that far superior publication, The Acorn, or endure the sneering stares of its year seven contributors.

We are free at last to explore every inch of our satirical and critical consciousness. No more censorship from Miss Pain! No longer is there a necessity to use clever pseudonyms to protect our identities, such as Hermione Granger. Yet, without Miss Cuthbert, what foe is there to rally against? What fresh insults from 'Enrichment' can we complain about? What do we have to say for ourselves? Judging by the rambling nature of this introduction, I would wager, not a lot.

On the other hand, it appears that we have all remained relatively interesting people even in the post-HBS years. We are not dwindling into alcoholism and/or being met with untimely deaths after all. HBS was not our sole sustenance, but simply the fertiliser, or manure if you will, helping us to grow into strong, old-girl, alumni stock. Life has gone on, and so will the Flasher.

A call for submissions, then, to write freely about anything a woman can write about. Recipes, Flashion, Horoscopes, knitting ideas, How to Please a Man, How to Capture a Man and Make Him Tell You He Loves You, How to hide the bruises you made your boyfriend give you, the possibilities are endless. Welcome back, ladies!

PS. This may or may not be a cover for a militant-cyborg-feminist underground movement (which is exactly what it sounds like). But it probably isn't.
